LOG LINE:

An American working abroad as a dancer/hostess falls in love with a fellow showgirl, and tries to reconcile her newfound sexual identity with her love for her boyfriend back home.
•
SYNOPSIS:
•
An insecure, struggling artist leaves her new boyfriend and accepts a six-month dance contract with strangers in Japan. She arrives first in Northern England for rehearsals where she meets the two Brits who will round out their small ensemble. After a week into their new reality of hostessing and dancing in a red-light district of Japan, they realize the only way to get through this is by being friends and allies. Yet, as soon as this bond has formed the harmony is disrupted when one of the Brits, Samantha, and the American, Natasha, find themselves falling in love with each other. They keep it secret from all but their third ensemble member, Brittney, who wants nothing more than to break them up, as she is now more isolated than ever. Meanwhile, Natasha and Samantha are connecting in a way they’ve never before experienced, but Natasha also loves her boyfriend back in New York, and knows she doesn’t want to live this way again anytime soon. As the end of the contract looms near, she is increasingly unsure of what she wants, and with whom. In her resistance to sacrifice either lover, she’s walking a tight rope that may lead to losing them both.
